Having lived with what the world has thrown into my life, I am entering my second year of surgery residency in Connecticut at a hospital you may have heard of, affiliated with a certain Ivy League university also in Connecticut. It's been a far cry from Los Angeles, San Francisco, and St. Louis, the cities I've known previously as home. I used to drink too much.
